Help with Names!! New Here!! Find out or not to find out?

Hi Girls
  I normally post on the maternal and child forum and got this link from one of the girl's on there!  I barely make this forum but am due November 30 so I'm 17 1/2 weeks!  We have two kiddos already, a boy and a girl, and so this is #3. We found out with both of the others what we were having and I'm thinking I don't want to know this time around.  But...also feel stressed out that I can't have anything done since I want to do the nursery in either pink/brown or blue/brown.  For those of you who waited, were you glad or did it make any difference?  I have my big 20 week sonogram July 7 so just wondering if we should or shouldn't find out.  I really don't care and don't want to but for convenience sake, it would be nice to have everything done.  Also, we are really struggling with names this time around.  We have a daughter, Kirsten, and a son, Jaden.  Anyone have any names they think fit well with Kirsten and Jaden?  I don't want a super common name but don't want something outrageous or difficult to say/spell either.  Any ideas are appreciated as we are at a total loss!  Hope everyone is feeling well.  I love being able to feel the baby move. It is so reassuring knowing they are doing OK.

Can you give us any hints on what you like.  Do you like traditional names, unique names, foreign sounding names, place names.....any particular letters you like?  

See I would be thinking of L names since you have J & K already....LOL...let us know.

My nephew is Jaden,her other boy is Owen. What about Lauren for a girl?

Or landen for a boy - (usually spelled Landon, but since you have the -en thing going).  This is my first pregnancy and I briefly thought about not knowing the sex of the baby - until it was born.  It seemed so exciting, but since this is my first - I have nothing!  And I would hate to buy everything unisex - until the baby came.  So I am finding out too on July 7th (due 11/21/08)

My friend has a little girl Jayden and her little boy's name is Keagen. Just trying to help. :)

As far as finding out..the biggest reason (but not only) we are is that we want to start buying stuff before the baby is born..and pick out a name..but there is nothing wrong with not finding out. Maybe you could ask the doc to check and write it down but not tell you just yet and if you guys decide its just too big of a hassle not knowing you could find out.

Great idea! I think I will have muy doc. write it down and then we can decide. I'll have to give the paper to someone else to keep though so I don't sneak down some night and open it!!!!  LOL!    

Like I said, we have Kirsten and Jaden and I'm really tossing around:

BOY names:  Jhett, Koby, (those are my top 2)

GIRL names:  Aria or Ariana, Carlie, Presley, and Brooklyn

I do like Lauren for a girl and Landen is also cute.  Definately names to think about.  If anyone has any thoughts on the names I have ideas on (problem is, hubby doesn't like them but he NEVER offers any names, he just says he doesn't like it) let me know!  I guess I'll give him a paper with 5 blank spots for girls and 5 blank spots for boys and have him fill it out.  I'll have to give him a timeline or I'll be in labor and it will still be blank!!! LOL!  Thanks girls!

Those are all cute names that go great with the other two! Out of your boys names I like Koby and girls I like Carlie, Presley and Brooklyn the best. But they are all really cute!

We are having issues with names too..Hubs has his heart set on Edward but I can't see myself calling my baby Edward! Maybe a middle name (its his dad's middle name) I would probably end up calling him E! I just have to hope we can agree on something else.

But we don't even know for sure if its a boy or a girl...haveta wait until tomorrow.

E isn't so bad!  My daughter's name like I said is Kirsten.  My little guy has severe speech delays and can not even begin to say that so we tried calling her sissy.  He can't say that either so he calls her E!  First thing out of his mouth when he wakes up in the morning is EEEEEEE!!!!!  It's really cute.  I agree with you though that Edward would make a better middle name.  Maybe he'll agree to that if you are at least using the name somewhere.  Maybe you'll find out tomorrow that it's a girl and will not have to worry about it at all!  You can always hope right!!!  Let us know tomorrow what you are having!!!  My best friend just had a C-section this morning, her third boy.  They have Luca, Joey and now Rocco!  I can't wait to go see her tonight!  Good luck tomorrow!

LOL That is too cute! EEEEEE! :D What a cute little guy you must have! I love the way little kids say things!
I know, he is SURE we are having a boy and while I don't disagree with him it would make some things easier if it were a girl..not only that but I would get to tease him! (that he was so sure it was a boy..watch..its a boy..lol)  :D

I like Brooklyn.  It was one of my top names too.  I like Aria second as Ariana is getting popular.  For the boys names you have picked out I like Koby.  Although, I like Landen probably better than Koby.  Just my picks.  Good Luck!!!

We have settled on a name we've like for a long time, but we're not sure if it's a boy or girl and don't know if we'll find out (in BC you have to pay to go private and get a 3-d scan to know).
For a boy we picked Aidan Douglas....and if we have another boy later on it may be Jack David. But I guess we should really consider girl names too! :)

Hey!! I am due November 30th too!!! I like your name Brooklyn! We just found out yesterday that we are having a BOY.... (the doctor was 90% sure)  We are thrilled to finally know the sex of our baby because before we knew I didn't feel like I could really connect with the Baby.  I would just call "it" the "Baby" or "He/She".. now i can talk to him and dream about what he will look like!  We have the name Christian Nathaneal picked out for our little boy.  If it was a girl.... we were going to name her Lydia Nicole!  We still hope and pray for a girl one day though!
