What's worked for me is a diet that keeps my blood sugar steady and not induce insulin. It has really changed my life. It's called LCHF, which is low carb, moderate protein and high fat. It's also real food, with no gimmicks, pills, powders, etc. Also no calorie counting. It's mainly vegetables with meat/fish/eggs/nuts and natural fats (olive oil, butter, bacon, coconut oil, etc). Also full fat dairy, and none of the no fat or low fat dairy. If you google LCHF, you will see many sites by doctors and other experts with typical eating plans, even variations for people with allergies or vegetarians. I wish I knew this decades earlier. Good luck to you.
