Attempting to Recover from My Eating Disorders

by Bree2013, Oct 11, 2009 11:12PM
I have been dealing with anorexia for many years, and recently I've been binging much more often as well, leading to bulimic cycles.  I want to get over this and finally move on with life, but it's been harder than I could have imagined.  I never realized how attached to this problem I had become.  What should I do?  My parents don't know, nor could we afford any sort of treatment anyway.  Is there anything I can do?

Anorexia eating disorder disease is complex and is not about just low food intake. I do recommend you seek medical help with your anorexia. With all eating disorders, it involves a team of professionals - MD, Dietitian, Psychologist, and Social Worker due to complexity of the disease. You need to see professionals who deal with eating disorders. National Eating Disorder Association website, nationaleatingdisorder.org will help you understand the illness. To find a Registered Dietitian who specializes in this you can find one in your area through the American Dietetic Association at eatright.org. Hope this helped you and thank you for your question.
