Avice on food - preparation for extremely intense exercise.

I am going for sprinting soon and would like to know if the following food will help for race day.

For a week prior to race day I am gonna drink a blend of Vitamins & Minerals which is 100% or more of daily required value. It is a fruit juice so don't worry there are no side effects.

3 days prior to race day I am going to include every night a water-based full dosage blend of B Vitamins - consisting of B1,2,3,5,6,12,15 . This will help with sleep, stress and boost enrgy levels.

On race day, about 3-5 hours before event, I plan to have bread and cheese slices(those finely cut and packed square slices, not real cheese to me) for breakfast + a normal breakfast drink (cocoa or cereal drink).

1 hour before event I plan to have a slice of bread + cereal bar to increase my carbs. also water to stay hydrated.

30mins before event I plan to take 8 to 16fl oz of a bottle of mix: B vitamins + Vitamin C effervescent + Glucose. - Is it allright to mix them all up?

Also, I am thinking of how to add caffeine into about 30mins to 1 hour before race.

Do I drink coffee, or other energy drinks such as Red-Bull or Coke? And also due to its dueretic effects/ other effects will it affect my mix of Vit B + C + Glucose?

I am going for two events on the same day, probably within 2hours.

Is it true that taking high levels sugar will help the muscles but slow you down? I certainly wouldn't want that to happen, any substitues that will replace all the lost electrolytes, carbs, etc.. that will help the muscles fatigue and also with speed?

Kindly send your suggestions on how to improve this or if it needs changes, or worse: if everything's wrong.

When I would competativly swim I would eat things like spagetti the night before. Yes sugar is good for the muscles but not straight sugar. You want to get it from fruit. Drink a protien shake that day too. Protien helps with stamina, there are some good electroltye supps but you need to go to your local vit shop. I can't tell you here or I will be kicked off. I would eat more carbs and protien with fat as well. caffine maybe in a tea form might be good. I wish you, luck. I hope you get some advise from others as well that run like you do. I only run unless someone is chasing me :)

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna have spaghetti for lunch & tea the day before race day. Plus other snacks that are high in carbs + fats.

Coz spaghetti for dinner is weird since my family's gonna have their usual dinner - i would be the only one taking spaghetti.

Also, I think red bull is the easiest form of higher dose caffeine I can get. Since taking dark coffee or tea at the track n between events just looks odd, and the caffeine content is lower than redbull. Plus it gives lots of sugar. I'm gonna walk to my pharmacy to check out if they have caffeine pills, if they don't oh well I will have to buy the bull then.

I'm still not sure if RedBull + Caffeine + Sugar + B-Vitamins + Vitamin C if all combined together and taken at once will affect the performance of any one of the supplements? Hopefully somebody can clarify this.

Yes I will. thanks. It's a fact that it will affect your health, but how I'm not sure. People drink RedBull+Vodka. Well I guess a can of red bull once in a blue moon won't seriously damage you.
