B12 Deficiency and Intrinsic Factor Blocking Test

B12 Deficiency and Intrinsic Factor Blocking Test

I was recently tested for B12 deficiency - my level is 80. Lab forgot to test for Intrinsic Factor Blocking AB so had to do another blood draw.I had taken a B12 shot 2 days prior to the 2nd blood draw. Lab report shows: Results - POSITIVE A and a Reference Range - NEGATIVE.  A note on the report says "False positive results will occur if concentration of free B12 in patient is sufficiently high. I was told taking the B12 shot prior to this test would not skew the results, is this correct? Also, does the pancreas have anything to do with B12 absorbtion?
