Blood tests / O.I.

by blayzmoon, Feb 12, 2008 09:36AM
My daughter has Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 1 with dental. (Brittle Bone Disease which affects both bones and teeth)
She recently had some blood work done:
Neutrophils levels came back High at 8.0 and 76.0
(Doctor suggested it should have been 1.2-6.0, and the other should have been 30-50)
Alkaline Phosphatase levels came back high also at 173
(Doctor suggested it should have been 37-113)
Lymphocytes came back at 1.7 and low at 16.1 (Doctor suggested the first is normal 1.0-5.5, but second measurment should have been 25-46, hers was 16.1)
What does any of this mean?? Does it have anything to do with her O.I. or is this completely unrelated?
Thank you in advance for any help you can be.

you can get free bloodwork analysis on the web, but, neutraphils and lymphocytes are
measurements of immunity, involved in allergy, cancers, asthma, etc.
Alkaline Phos. is liver function related.
I do not have the expertise to know if it's related to the O.I., although, anything is possible.

Good morning. I have osteogenesis imperfecta and want you to know about the OI registry. You can google the disease and I am sure it will bring you to the OI website. There you will get some awesome support from parents who also have children with the bone disease. There are also  forums you can go to. I don't know where you live, but here in Tampa, they have a support system. I wish you the best and you can always email for support or questions.  Take Care.

I'm a disabled man who cannot find good food in my area living alone, don't cook, just what i can get to eat,and with no help go to bed starving myself because i'M not finding good food plus my disability budget just gets me into smoky places, and that just ruins my appetite, everybody smokes here  and eats greazy hamburgers and fast food and drinks alcohol in excess like it was a hoosier thing, crime is more on a definate increace than 19 years ago,i did not choose to live here, guns and sirens run rampant in the night,no security lights on all of the time on the roads and neighborhoods, gunshots are heard at random when i open my storm door, fair game for looting, and i was almost shot at my own doorstep twice in the last two years!!!
