Confused

Confused

I am slightly confused. I find that if I eat less calories than I burn, I gain 5 pounds within 4-5 days. I run almost every day for 20- 25 minutes, work out, and I am super healthy. I have a 2 eggs and 1 tbsp peanut butter for breakfast, low carb protein shake and fiber bar for snack, meat, 2 pieces candy, 10 sunchips (I limit to 150 calorie instant carbs) and 1 serving fruit for lunch, some kind of instant carb for a snack, normally a fiber bar (Fiber Plus brand), and then a protein shake and fruit for dinner. It's about 200- 300 calories more than I burn. I want to lower my body fat by about 8%, but I gain weight and look fatter when I eat less. Thyroid issue a possibility?

Try giving your body the same amount of calories by in a different form. Instead of one of the protein shakes you eat sub it for a carbohydrate salad with nuts (same calories) and see what happens over a week. Remember when building lean body muscle mass, your weight will go up because muscle weights more than fat. If you had a thyroid issue you would be tied and not able to exercise as much.
