Diet for Increasing HDL

Diet for Increasing HDL

Hello,

This may be a long shot, but has anyone here had success with the diet recommended by Ashen and Blumenthal in the NEJM Sept 22 2006 article "Low HDL Cholesterol Levels"?

This is essentially a modified Mediterranean diet where both carbohydrates and saturated fats are restricted in favor of sources of polyunsaturated  fats (olive oil etc., fish, nuts).

I'd also be interested in hearing of any other dietary strategies that helped this problem.

Thanks

J.

I have not tried any diets to raise my HDL, but, I do know the vitamin, "Niacin" is great for doing that, so, I would say that eatting "Brewers Yeast" would help too.
