Because all the food thsts labeled diet, low calorie, sugar free etc are filled with sugar and chemical fillers which are really bad for you.  Don't starve yourself. ..eat sensibly.  Exercise don't have to kill yourself do walking in place 10 min. Routine for The 1st ten min of 5 of your awake hours.

But make sure those meals are healthy and that eating six times a day suits you.  That way of eating was developed by body builders who were loading food into themselves, and then it spread to others who recommended six small meals to keep metabolism going at a regularized pace.  But people are different, so find your own level,  The important thing is to learn what foods are healthy for you and which aren't, and not to expect quick results if weight loss is what you're after -- slow wins the race as a permanent change in habits is what works, not dieting.

If you are exercising every day and not getting enough food into your body you're burning empty calories and you won't get the results you need. A healthy body is made in the kitchen before the gym. Try eating six small meals a day and workout for 45 mins. The pounds should start coming off if you give your body the correct proteins.
