High Folate, but normal B12

High Folate, but normal B12

I recently had blood work done and my B12 was 743 which is normal, but my Folate was 61.5 which is way out of the normal range of 3.1-17.5.  What could be my problem and how do you suggest I correct the situation?  Thank You.

Folate is good for your body and you may have eaten food high in folate the night before the test which may have caused the blood results to be above normal. You are not at any risk. You need to concern if the folate results were below normal. There is a relationship between Folate and vitamin B12. Studies show that if the Folate is elevated it may be due to a vitamin B12 deficiency; however, your Vitamin B12 is normal which indicates no relevance.
