How bad is it to eat protein bars for the majority of your meals?

I have eaten a protein bar every day for breakfast for the past 5 or 6 years. By protein bars I mean Balance or Power bars. A lot of times I will eat them for lunch as well. I have eaten them for all three meals, although that is not typical. At least one if not two meals is typical for me.

I have a lot of digestive and health problems and I'm starting to wonder how bad this habit is on my health. Where are some good resources for me to read about this?

Thanks!

Protein bars are mostly sugar.  They're intended to be used in conjunction with a very strenuous workout -- otherwise it's just a candy bar with some protein added.  The more protein in them, the worse they taste.  Listen to Julie and eat food, not candy bars.

well you really do need to start eating a proper balanced diet with lots of fruit, veg, meat, fish, nuts, seeds, diary etc.... your body is more than likely crying out for vitamins and minerals and because it anit getting them you are now beggining to suffer for your act.

You can find protein in meat, fish, eggs, nuts which would make a brill meal if you combined some of them together... like tuna, wholegrain rice with a mixed salad and pine nuts.

Go along to a nutritionist and have them take a hair sample for analysis and they will be able to tell you what vit's and minerals you need most, my guessing is the vast majority of them.
