Low blood sugar?

by lavienouveau, Jul 05, 2009 01:16PM
Hey, I'm a 19 year old and am very health conscious (I am in remission from an eating disorder but now I am truely trying my best to be healthy and get everything I need). I've never been a high energy person but have recently been much more lethargic than usual (I feel as though I could take a nap almost at any time, and get tired from the smallest bit of walking around). It recently realized I eat very little sugar (not purposfully, I just don't really like very sweet things) could these two be related or is there another explanation for my exhaustion? how much sugar do I actually need in a day?

Glad to hear you are recovering from an eating disorder. Your body is underweight so it needs time to gain back some more weight to feel healthier. We need to take in daily 50-60% carbohydrates which breaks down to sugars in our blood for energy. If you are concerned about your blood sugars, suggest seeing your MD to be tested.
