Possible Vitamin B deficiency

Possible Vitamin B deficiency

Since last Tuesday I have been feeling somewhat listless, have had difficulty focusing, and have just been generally moody.  I haven't been able to pinpoint a reason, but after reading some online literature about vitamin B (specifically 1 and 12) I wonder if I might have a vitamin B deficiency.  I eat (especially for the past two months) an incredibly carbohydrate-centric diet, all the while working out 5-6 times a week and sometimes more.  My diet is very unbalanced, but only slightly more so than usual.  Yesterday I noticed this potential cause and consumed a lot of raspberries and fruit juices, along with some whole wheat products in an effort to combat it.  For the first time since Tuesday, I felt completely normal last night.  Today I have felt ok, not quite as good, but ok.  I am wondering if this a)sounds like a vitamin B deficiency, b)should prompt me to take vitamin b vitamin packs.  I went to a GNC and picked up a full vitamin b complex pill (which I took one of about 3 hours ago) and just an individual b1 vitamin.  Should I keep trying these/is there any risk in taking one a day if there is something else going on here other than a vitamin b deficit.  Thanks in advance.

If you think you have vitamin Bs deficiency, then you should go to your MD and get blood work done to see the levels. If they are mildly deficient, then a daily multi-vitamin would be fine to take along with consuming daily balanced food intake. If your levels are in normal range, then just eating healthy daily and balance your meals (all nutrients – protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, and minerals) especially since you work out regularly.
