Prontix created imbalance in flora

Jan. 08 I was put on Protonix for mild gastritis.  I had only once before been put on this type of medication and it disrupted my body.  I have been off the medication for about 1 month.  I am taking 1/2 mg. 3 times a day of Lorazapam for Anxiety.  I am fairly sure that the Protonix did something to the flora in my system and every time I eat my glands swell during the process of saliva.  After awhile the swelling goes down.  There is a mild sticky feeling in my mouth after eating.  I can not eat many carbs or any sugars with a set back.  I am using acidopholics but I put a very small amount in water and use it as a rinse because I tried taking the capsule whole and it hurt as it was being digested.  Any adivce would be appreciated.  Betty

Flora bacteria are in our intestines and it helps with digestion. One of the side effects of Lorazepam is dry mouth which sounds like what you stated. Suggest drinking extra fluids (lukewarm) during and after meals. If you continue to have issues with your upper saliva glands, suggest you see your MD.
