I've seen so many posts and answers regarding PICAAtypical pneumonia Celiac disease - sprue Tooth abscess, where people crave smellsSmell - impaired Stools - foul smelling of gasoline, cleaning agents and concrete, but I don't think anyone craves this: sponges. For some reason, I crave the kind of sponges that some people use for amateur field hockey balls or the envelope-moistener kind. Maybe this has to do with the particular texture of the sponge, since I don't crave the thicker, dishwashing-type sponges.
At one point, I even went online to a medical supply site to try and buy surgical sponge tips that are used for patients with dry mouths. I think it would be so satisfying to eat one of these, especially if they are saturated in water.
My doctor did say my anemia was worsening, so I know it must be some form of PICAAtypical pneumonia Celiac disease - sprue Tooth abscess, but could I be lacking some other mineral or nutrient as well?
