Too Much Protein?

I had weight loss surgery in April and I have been drinking Protein.  My hair has been falling out so I wanted to increase the protein that I am taking in.  I have been drinking a protein called Nectar and I put two scoopfuls with my water for a total of 46 gms and then having my meals during the day.  Could I up how much I am having without causing any damage to myself?  I just don't know if too much protein is bad for you.  Also, if there is anything else I could be doing to avoid losing my hair, I know it will eventually come back (I HOPE!!!), I would like to just avoid it to begin with.  Thanks for any help.

I am not sure about the protein intake causing hairloss, i will leave that one for the doc.  I know that vitamin deficiency will without a doubt cause some hair loss, so will any shock to the body including surgery and rapid weight loss.  You can get your doctor to run some blood work on you to see if your body is deficient in any minerals or vitamins.  You can visit www.hairloss-reversible.com for more answers.  There is a forum on there that you can get some information from or even ask questions yourself.  Good luck to you.

Thank you for your response.  I will definately check out that website and probably post a question there too.  It doesn't hurt to ask in different places.
