Vitamin b-12, iron, anemia

Since November I have had shortness of breath, cough and fatigue.

I have had numerous tests: chest x-ray, chest CT, ECG, pulmonary function tests, echocardiogram, and a cardiopulmonary stress test. All were normal.

I have never had any blood tests done and am wondering now if it is possible that I have anemia....

The pulmo contribuited my cough to the Indomethacin I take 3x a day.

When doing some reading it came up that a vitamin b-12 defiency (leading to anemia) can be caused by taking omeprazole long term... I have taken omeprazole 20mg 1x a day for over a year as a preventative measure since I take so much indomethacin (I don't have GERD) So.... could I be vitamin b-12 deficient due to taking omeprazole??

I also read that b-12 deficiencies can cause canker sores... which I have begun to have again (I haven't had one for four years)

Anyways... do you think it is unreasonable for me to ask for a blood test to check for this??

Thanks!

Ask your MD to do a full Iron profile blood work with Vitamin B12 to determine if you have some type of anemia or not. Fatigue is a side effect from breathing issues similar to yours as you stated too.

Sorry... also, I am 19 years old female and am slightly overweight (most of it was gained when this started and I became too tired and breathless to work out anymore) Before this I worked at a camp all summer running around w/ my campers and went to the gym and walked a couple days a week.
