Many people do find iron supplements difficult to tolerate and to absorb.  One of the best for absorption is a natural iron called Floradix, which sources its iron from plants (many plants are very high in easily absorbed iron, such as parsley, beets, dandelion, and others).

Hi,
How are you? Sodium feredetate  or sometimes known as oral iron is used to treat anemia caused by a deficiency of iron. An increased production of red blood cells and reduction of symptoms associated with anemia such as weakness and shortness of breath may be observed. On the other hand, ferrous ascorbate is a synthetic molecule of ascorbic acid and iron. Ascorbic acid enhances absorption of iron and it also reduces ferric iron to ferrous iron which remains soluble even at neutral pH, hence absorbed thrice as much as ferric form or iron. It is best that you discuss this with your doctor also for proper management. Additional factors such as your symptoms present, condition and results of diagnostic tests are also important considerations. Take care and regards.
