stomach problems

For a month and a half, I have had symptoms of nausea/vomiting, constant upset somach from the time I wake up until I go to bed, loss of appetite, and a feeling like my food isn't going down when I eat.  I am constantly swallowing because it feels like something is there.  It doesn't matter what I eat.  I have eaten baby food and then pizza later on, all with the same symptoms.  I don't even have to eat to experience them.  I am also belching alot and have a constant bad taste in my mouth.  I went to the doctor after a day of not being able to keep anything down and blood tests, stool and urine came back normal.  They did xrays of the abdomen and again, normal.  I am scheduled for an endoscopy the end of July.  I am so miserable I don't know what to do. Dr. put me on Prilosec and Pepcid twice a day.  Now I feel like when I eat, my food just sits there.  Anyone else have these symptoms?

It is good to hear you will be tested. In the mean time suggest the following methods that may help decrease irritation and pain- Eating behaviors: 1. Smaller, frequency meals 5-6 times a day helps keeps the stomach acid and pressure much more even than 3 large meals daily, 2. Eat slowly, not too quickly. Putting your fork down between bites would help to slow down your rate of eating, 3. Sit up while eating and remain sitting or standing 45-60 minutes after eating, 4. Stop eating any foods 2-3 hours before you go to bed. Food: 1. Avoid high fat foods (fatty, greasy, fried foods) because they stay in the stomach longer, 2. Avoid spicy food, 3. Certain types of food cause issues and avoid them – Chocolate, Peppermint, Caffeinated drinks (coffee, tea, soda), and Alcohol, 4.Try not to consume any foods or beverages that cause discomfort. With the help of the medication and the above methods, hopefully your pain will decrease.
