too much water?

too much water?

hello. My son is 16months and eats all family foods, has breast milk and normal milk. But he drinks what  i would consider an excessive amount of water. he is always pointing to water bottles, wanting more to drink. Should we be concerned about this? Thanks

His weight is just below the 50th percentile and his height is between 25th-10th percentile for his age. For a 16 month old he should be drinking 12-16ozs (.36 -.48mL) a day of milk / breast-milk plus 4-6oz 100% fruit juice a day. Is he drinking that much breast-milk / milk and juice at meals or between meals? If you still feel he is drinking excessive amounts of fluids then have him checked by his MD.

I am unsure about the oz. He drinks over 500ml of water a day, I'm not sure how much breast milk, but he has a drink 3times per day before arvo sleep and night sleep, and also about 100ml of whole milk in a cup a day. The weight and height i gave you were from his 1year old check approx 4months ago, so may be more by now. He eats all family meals and grazes all day.
