While you are breast feeding you should not lower your calorie intake to lose weight because the baby needs food and your body needs nutrients. When your baby is off breast feeding, you can eat fewer calories which will result in decreased weight. Suggest exercising to help get your body back in shape, such as daily walking with the baby in a stroller, using weights at home, or yoga. Hoped this helped you.

The first approx three months are difficult because you are sleep deprived. Lack of sleep makes it difficult for weight loss. Hopefully as your baby is better able to sleep through the night this will be easier. Until then eat right, drink LOTS of fluids and if possible take your baby out for a walk a few times a day. I am not a dr but this is what I have heard/read.
