My mother is in rehab after getting a triple bypass.   She also is diabetic and lost her
insurance approx 2 years ago. She has not taken care of her self because she has no insurance.
I thought the condition she was in, was because of her diabeties.  It was connected but she ended up having  conjestive heart failure and needed a triple bypass.  She is now in rehab.

The first week she was in the hospital,  my brother came home from Michigan.  He has not been in my mothers
house in many many years.  I have not got through the front door in two year.  The house  was and is toxic.   My father and brother worked in the house the week he  was home.  My allergies could only take one day of it.  I even wore a mask with filtration system.   I wanted to stay at the hospital anyway and thought the house could wait.

They got two dump trucks and loaded 200 bags of garbage. My bother then had to go back to his family in Michigan after 1 week.  My father and mother are not together anymore but my father said he would help.   He worked on the house and  in the basement for the past 4 weeks.   In the mean while, I had to go back to work.  I spend my evenings up in the hospital and my days at work.

Any day now she will be released from the hospital.  She is going to stay with my youngest sister Bridget for a few weeks.   I was hopeing to get my mother some counciling when she was in the hospital but I have been spinning my wheels.  She still is in charge of her well fair and I can not even get her paystubs to try to get her medical insurance.   Its hard to talk to people about this when she is in the hospital for her heart.  I can not talk about this will my mother in the room.  I can not  talk to her about it because she will either hang the phone up, tell me to get out or start crying.  My brother has also tried years ago.  She starts crying and then looks like she is a zombie.  My father and sisters approach is to just through out her stuff.

I believe she had a nervous breakdown the last time they emptied her house.  She looked like a zombie and her teeth fell out of her head.  I dont want that to happen again but the house will kill her if she stays in it the way it is.

I feel really bad but I dont want her to end up a homeless person but I also dont want her living with me.  I want her to get help and live on her own.  Her mental abuse is to much for me.  She is exhausting and she makes me depressed when I am around her.  She comes with a lot of baggage and even my own family did not know some of the horrific stories about her family.   Please advise.
