OCD Contamination worries

So I have had OCD since I was 6 and but was officially diagnosed 2 years ago. Anyway, I have a cold sore that is closing in on the end of the scabbing phase. I have been VERY careful to not touch it and if I did, I washed my hands or used hand sanitizer and I have been VERY careful with that (my hands are so dry from washing them so much) because I DO NOT want to spread this or risk me getting another one anytime soon and my OCD always makes me obsess over things being clean when an illness or something is present in my home.

Anyway, Saturday I was doing my makeup and I was using a brand new makeup sponge and I was VERY careful to not let the sponge touch the sore (the scab had fallen off because it was getting smaller.) In my daze of doing my makeup, I did the area under my nose and THEN did it around my eye. I am like 99.99% certain the sponge did not touch the sore but I am worried I like contaminated my eye. Since then I have been OBSESSING over it and of course I looked up symptoms of what it could feel like if you eye was infected, etc.

Last night, my eye was bugging me (looking at it there was a speck of something in it, took forever to get rid of it.) and this morning my eye was a bit irritated and looked a little swollen so I don't know if that is from me messing with my eye last night or if I really DID contaminate my eye, if it's my OCD and this is all in my head and I am just feeling these things because my brain is focused on it.

(Additional notes: I do see a therapist who I will be meeting with today but I am so worried about this that I can't even focus at work today!)

I think its your ocd which is making stuff in your head, you need to relax a bit and try to ignore these thoughts.

If you really can't get relief from these thoughts then you may need to restart your medicine.
