OCD diagnosis

Hi
I have been to my GP and they confirmed that I indeed suffer with anxiety and OCD, I have been sent to a therapist to do CBT,  and been given a prescription for my anxiety.
I have been told my two different therapist that I suffer with OCD yet I still doubt that I have it,  and that I'm just using it as an excuse. I'm just wondering if Ive been officially diagnosed with OCD then ? Or do you get diagnosed by getting a brain scan or something, how do I get a proper diagnosis, or have I already been diagnosed ?
Thanks :)

Well OCD is the doubters disorder so I'm not surprised.  Go and see the therapists.  I'm sure your GP is right and that you do have OCD.  You don't need a brain scan.  Nothing will show up.  The diagnosis is based on your recount of what is going on in your life.  What you are stuck on, etc.  There are specific criteria that need to be met for the diagnosis and apparently you meet them.  Please see the therapists and learn CBT.

I have been to therapy and done some Cbt, my therapist had a piece of paper with things on it, when diagnosing me with OCD, so I think she decided that I do have OCD because everything I said pointed it out. She then referred me to a specialist that does CBT. But I'm just afraid that, that wasn't an official diagnosis? They wouldn't send me to a therapist specialised in OCD if I didn't have it, wouldn't they ? I don't even know :(
