PICK OUT MY EYELASHES

Is this considered OCD? I constantly touching (rubbing my finger tips along) my eyelashes and many times I'll pick one or two out. I'd say I touch far more that pick. When I touch I get really worked up and hold my breath and I really can't explain it but it feels good. I don't understand.. it started maybe two yrs ago now? Anyhow I also mutilate my finger nails and cuticles.. I'll find cuticles and pull them back and make myself bleed because the sting almost feels good. I have a history of depression and have been taking 10mg Zoloft for a while now. This is becoming unbearable. My friend suggests these habits may be linked to my childhood sexual abuse- so is it OCD or just my past playing itself out physically?? PLEASE HELP

Yeah, I've been pulling/picking my eyelashes out since I was about 8 or 9 (I'm 14 now). I think that I have OCD, but I haven't yet gotten an official diagnosis. I have gone through some bouts of depression (who hasn't), and I am constantly struggling with anxiety. I really have tried to stop pulling out my eyelashes, but I honestly can't help it. I usually just try to distract myself though, if that helps you by any chance. I've picked up the habit of tapping my feet, or cracking my knuckles. And that can get to be a very irritating thing to do, but I have noticed that my "pulling" has become less severe (clenching my fists helps too).

You need to look into therapy.  You have OCD and it needs to be treated by a professional.  Start with a psychologist and if medication is indicated you can then see a psychiatrist.  The combination of both behavior mod and medication will go a long way in helping you get better.

Since I was a young girl I have picked my eyeslashes and sometimes pulls them all out. I enjoy the pain so much that it does not hurt anymore. I panic alot and I find myself picking my lashes out when I am stressed. Its hard for me to keep jobs because I panic alot. I can not drive because I am so scared. My boyfriend complains about driving me everywhere but he does not understand that I am really afraid. I am 25 years old and I have two kids. I work and go to school. It is hard to do the things I need to do everyday because my boyfriend has to take me everywhere. My boyfriend actually had to take a job that will let him leave two times a day. Somebody help me please!

ok the pulling eye lash thing is call trichotillomania(i have trichotillomania if you having questions about that ask me) it a hair pulling disorder and the pain feeling good is probably a sign of endorphins

Hm, I like pulling out my eyelashes, and it doesn’t cause me pain, and I don’t have any disorders, so I really don’t know why I like doing it so much.
Any other ideas?
