Possible OCD?

Ok...my friends and family all say I have OCD because I am a little "different". After reading some of the posts, my "symptoms" are not really as bad as others. Here are why my friends/family say I have OCD:

I don't like my food to touch
I don't like to eat/drink after people (even my own kids)
I separate colored candies (skittles, M&M's etc) and eat separated colors. I even do this to gummy worms.
I like to have a "clean" house, but it isn't ALWAYS what I would like it to be (I have young children)
I LIKE perfection in a lot of things (doing my daughters hair is one of them), but I can survive if it isn't that way.

With ALL of these things, it isn't EXTREME or ALL the time, just MOST of the time. What are your thoughts? Couldn't it just be that I have quirks?

I'm going to agree that OCD is definately little quirks. The difference here is that it does not seem that these little quirks are affecting your day to day life in any way shape or form.
There is a general misunderstanding about OCD and people will say that any quirks or odd behaviour, to them, most be OCD. You seperating your MM's or not liking to drink after someone else is not something I would classify as ODC, unless if you did by accident drink from someone else's cup and it caused a panic. Or intrusive thoughts that you could not get out of your head, going over and over again about how maybe that was your glass, but wait you are pretty sure it wasn't and what if it wasn't, .. etc.
OCD is an awful thing to deal with. I would keep my mind open to the possibility but I really think you are fine. I do agree though that a Dr's opinion is the most valued at this point, because I am simply speculating.

OCD obsessions are quirks if you think about it.  So yes, you have quirks.  Could you have obsessive compulsive disorder, defnitely.  But the only way to really know for sure is to see a psychologist and get a formal diagnosis.

The thing about OCD is that it doesn't have to be all encompassing.  You can have it and live a very normal life.  It is when it starts to take over your day-to-day life that it becomes a problem that needs to be addressed.

OCD is a control issue.  All the things you are doing are about control.  You control how your food is on your plate, you control the separation of your candy treats, you control your house and its cleanliness (its a good sign that a little bit of a mess doesn't send you overboard), and your daughter's hair (which you also are able to deal with when it isn't perfect.)

So I guess it comes down to can you live your life like this on a daily basis or are you constantly anxious because of these things.  Do you feel it is getting worse or staying about the same?  These are things you need to look at and decide if you need to get some outside help to bring you back to a more normal way of thinking.
