Repeating quotes or ideas from CBT and other self-improvement literature

I often get an idea, usually learned from CBT or other self-improvement literature, and will repeat it 100+ times in my head over the course of anywhere from 4 hrs to 4 days. For example, I had an epiphany from my latest CBT session that I tend to be "in my own head" where I think my ideas and experiences are the only things that matter. When I socialize, I always seem to bring the conversation back to myself or to relate what someone is saying to my own experiences. So, when I was chatting with a friend of mind, I kept reminding myself of my "solipsistic bias" over and over again, in order to prevent myself from steering the conversation toward talking about myself. I saw that my conversational style improved, but after a while, I felt too monolithic, and that instead of naturally enjoying the conversation, I was busy focusing on not committing some bias. I had to snap out of it.

Has anybody else used mantras to psych themselves up, or have found quotes and ideas from self-help literature so inspiring that they repeat them in their head over and over again?

It's obsessive-compulsive, it can happen with words, thoughts, images, rituals, etc.  Also with biting nails or lips, pulling hair, scratching skin or cuticles, etc.
