SYRINGE PRICK (OCD)

Hi i'm depressed about this situation. I masturbated with a guy in the cr of his hotel room for about 5 mins. He turned off the lights and we masturbated. We never kissed or do sexual contact. We only do mutual masturbation. After that he turned on the lights and  i noticed that he has a pouch in the sink and then, i saw a medical vial but without syringe. I am scared that he might pricked me with syringe while the lights are off but i didn't feel anything. I'm so scared! I am thinking about this everynight. Please help me!!!!!

It isn't something that I would personally worry about.

Hi, I believe that this discussion was caused by reassurance seeking -- here is what someone else said about reassurance seeking on this site:

"As a fellow OCD sufferer, I cannot give you reassurance.  Even if I did, you will still find a way to be anxious about this situation.  The best thing is to stay off Google, let your mind and heart calm down over time, and accept the very unlikely risk that you could have contracted hiv. I go through this all the time, constantly worried what if this happened and what if that happened.  It is so frustrating, but I always find given time the worry goes away if I do nothing about it."

Ugh. HIV anxiety is still going back. Last night I got cold and I feel like I got HIV. I'm only 20 years old and I am thinking of my future and how to tell my parents about my HIV status.

This is a no risk situation because you would know if somebody stuck you with a needle.  Just a fact for you....if you were an EMT (somebody that rides in an ambulance) and you accidentally stuck yourself with a needle filled with REAL HIV infected blood, your chances of becoming HIV positive are less than 1 percent.  HIV is not something you can easily get even in a real risk situation.

Okay....I understand.  Let me ask you this.  When was the last time you had blood drawn or gotten a shot?  If you remember, you will know that there is no mistaking when someone sticks a needle in you.  I had to give myself shots in the stomach with a very small needle and even then there was no mistaking that I just poked myself.  So I would find it highly unlikely that you would get poked by a needle and not know it.

I take it that this worry is stemming from HIV anxiety?
