Very strange and worried?

by autumnsky, Oct 08, 2009 09:31AM
Ever since I was little I've had an obsession with people's cold hands I don't know why, even dog and cats paws, I don't know why and I feel like a very weird person. When I do feel someone's hands or paws I suddenly get this weird sensation then I grind my teeth cuz grinding my teeth feel good. I also do it if I think something is really adorable looking, please do not think of me as being weird but I've always had this obsession and now that I am older I feel wrong and feel like a bad person, almost like comparing it to molesting someone, I have that fear too. Does anyone (you) know what this is and/or tell me if you've experienced it? Should I be worried? I'm afraid to tell me doc she'll think I'm dangerous or something or that it's related to a sexual disorder and I am a pervert and a criminal. What kind of obsession is this?

You're not a pervert or a criminal or a danger to anyone. You should really tell your doctor about this to see what kind of input they can give you and see if they can help you or refer you to someone who can. I'm not sure if it's OCD or not but you're not weird at all. Sometimes I need to rub the palm of my hand or parts of my fingers on stuff or other people until it feels right, and when I was younger if I stepped on a crack with one foot I would have to go back and step on it with the other with the same part of my foot until it felt evened out. It may seem weird but you can't help it, and some people may not understand but just know you're not alone.
