Who here has chemical contamination issues?

I have this type of OCD personally. I read a lot about articles but most seem to pertain to germ contamination which I don't have.  I have the same compulsions that germ contaminators have in that I wash my hands too much and I take about three showers a day. Things that send my OCD into full throttle are lead, mercury, pumping gas etc.......The list is long. I'm just curious if there are any others that have OCD that revolves around chemical contamination? I've been taking 50mg of Zoloft for 14 years. During this time my OCD was fairly nonexistent. However, over the last two years the symptoms have returned. I'm assuming the zoloft has worn out it's usefulness in my body. Because of my chemical contamination fears though, I don't want to change meds. I think my therapist could probably more easily persuade me to cut my arm off with a rusty butter knife than to change meds. So, if you can relate to me, I'd be interested in hearing from you.

My OCD is pretty bad, and seems worse now even though on medication. I have a fear of pesticides, and not only do I avoid them, I worry that I have gotten them on me or brought them in the house even when I'm pretty sure I haven't. Once I imagine doing it, then I wonder if I have. I have tried counseling and medication, but even when there's a little improvement, it's not significant. Am going through a really tough time now -- and feel like  a crazy person. I'm afraid to touch shoes I MIGHT have worn that Might have gotten termite pesticide on them because I saw a pest truck parked outside my apartment. I know it sounds crazy, but I still worry that I've gotten contaminated. I really wonder how much longer I can deal with this.
