You live very close to Toronto (and Barrie also has a hospital) - there is so much help for you in your area. Have you asked your family doctor for a referral to a specialist in your area? Have you contacted your local mental health clinic (and yes, there is one in Barrie)? You should be able to find these telephone numbers in your telephone book; if you can not; then google the phrase "Canadian Mental Health Association Barrie" - the address and telephone number is listed on that site. Also, perhaps your daughters could speak to the school Resource Teacher (and all high schools in Ontario have Resource Teachers) for additional help and guidance. There is help in your area but someone in your family will have to make the first move. As you know, most mental health treatments are covered under OHIP. I wish you the best ...
No one should take a medication other than other than under a doctor's/psychiatrist's supervision. One thing to note about anti-depressents as well is that they were meant to treat depression and will make mania from bipolar worse. That's why mood stabilizers such as Lithium, Depakoate and Lamictal are used instead. That's why a psychiatrist needs to diagnose exactly what's going on.
Did you know thoughts of suicide are a very real possible side effect of the drug Lyrica that you're self medicating with?
I have many referral agencies for the U.S. but try this for a starter for Canada and see if they can help you out:
