Hi...
in the past (4 yrs ago) i had too many rituals and obsessive thoughts, it began when my father died when i was 8 yrs, these days, i have only two rituals that i do, the first, is checking if my house door is locked by trying to open it 3 times before i am sure that its locked, and the other ritual is checking my oven by staring at it, but when i finish i will be 100% sure that everything is OK (unlike 4 yrs ago, when i repeat the rituals again and again), the other thing is the severity of my rituals increase when i am in a stressful situation but this phase goes very quickly (no more than two days), do you think that i have an ocd?
thanks

This is how my OCD started.   I would say yes, you have the start of OCD.  Ironically my father died 12 years ago and my OCD started.  It started by checking the doors over and over, and then all the cuboards in the kitchen were closed properly I would stand and stare at them until I felt comfortable and I did it in a ritual way, the door first and then the kitchen cuboard doors.  I then moved units and it started again but different,  Anxiety seems to move OCD rituals around once you are bored with one ritual another one starts with me anyway,  I started to check the taps where off properly I had to do this at least a few times and stare, then make sure the power switches were off too before I went to work and the fridge was closed properly and then the front door.  Finally when I moved in with my boyfriend all I did was check the oven was off properly but I would stare and stare for ages, and then I checked the bed for bugs.  This is when he noticed my OCD.  After I gave birth 2 1/2 years ago I got depression and the birth bought OCD to be fully blown to the point I needed meds.  Just wanted to show you the progression of the OCD, I think its good you recognise it now, so you can take a handle of the situation, rather than like I didnt and it got out of hand.
