even though im obsessive, im also narcisstic

im a very narcissistic person.  Even though im obsessive, narcissism gets the best of me.  I used to be in a band 6 years ago and ever since then ive been this way.  I dont know what it is, because i guess its just the lack of a good job, or living with my parents at 29 that combats this.  (Im married too)  But i have extreme narcissism like when i go out to places and play music, i think i really am the best and when i hear other stuff on the radio, it makes me mad, because i think i can do way better.  And at the same time, i dont think i can spend my life always playing music because i gotta think realistically, and when i play i like to drink alot. that messes me up mentally.  I dont know it just seems something ive worked at so hard like music, is just not going to work.  I mean I have lots of other talents too like writing and stuff but sometimes i just wanna be a normal husband supporting guy.  I dont know, i just cant stop thinking about this.

I would trade you problem over mine any day. That's great you are good at something and think you are. Usually narcissistic people don't recognize they are so either you aren't or good for you for admitting it. Obsessive behavior leads to perfection or the other way around so it makes since you have both. If it's a real problem and getting in the way of your life seek some help. Remember you are a good musician, but there is ALWAYS someone better..LOL take care
