Is my problem with not being able to get rid of things I don't need or use part of OCD?

Yes it can be. I know someone who has ocd and goes to a support group and they had a specific meeting about this. For ocd, besides medication and talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy can be very helpful as well especially for issues such as hoarding objects.

I only got this problem when I  became bipolar.  I look at what I have hoarded and I think My God look at the mess my mind is in.  My psychiatrist and psychotherapist are aware of this problem, and I am on a medication for it to no avail. Other than the medication, we never seem able to really get down and address the issue.
I am considering practicing self-hypnosis to see if maybe I can change my thought pattern.  Otherwise I am feeling pretty helpless and frustrated.
I want to get beyond this and live a healthy lifestyle.  No groups have been suggested to me or offered.  I feel out in left field all alone.  Are there any hoarders in this company, and what are they doing to deal with it?

My 10 year old son started hording things that is to be garbage to me like .chicken bone ,can of soda ,apple core ,food containner ,unfinnished food, He hid them everywhere in our house we always argue with it and he will started to cry .I ask him what are going to do with this but he says nothing but I can't throw them away.I took him to the my doctor and told me to bring him to Psychiatrist I did not bring him to psychiatrist because my son is not crazy he is very playfull.I keep looking on the internet and I found about the Kid like my son Disorder and she said she give her son Suppliment Pure Inositol powder,I give my son  about 1/4 of a teaspoon everyday eversince he never keep anything garbage in our house completely and I will say it again completely. he is now 12 year old now it help him so much and I thank God for helping my son I wish god will help you too.
