I will be quite frank with you... whenever I am obsessing about something... my mind can usually not be at ease until I have been tested or told by a professional that I am being paranoid.
So, that's not much help to you.
What would I recommend then? Do something that will distract you from these thoughts. Start a project, stay busy. Anything to help you de-stress.
Of course, i will get it tested in 2 months, but so far, im really worried from these things
they keep popping up in my head all the time
I know its silly but i just cannot keep it away from my conscious
do u know any way to distract me from this thought?
Well.... look at it this way.
When they draw blood, the needle goes in, they get the blood, and then they take the needle out, correct?
Well, immediately after they put a cotton ball or something on it to stop the blood, and then put a band-aid over the blood right?
If so, then they may not come in contact with the blood at all.
Also, as for the HIV virus, once it is exposed to air, it basically becomes ineffective.
Why don't you just get tested again in a few months to ease your worries?
YES
First of all, the place where i have blood tested, is anonymous clinic which is for HIV people.
1. I accidentally saw the list of what the previous patient wanted to check, and one of the boxes is CD4 which means she is HIV+
2. I was watching the room since I had noticed that they didn't change the gloves for other patients as well.
Then I asked the information desk (by calling them 2 weeks after), they told me that the policy is to change the gloves every 3 patients or whenever the gloves have contaminated with blood.
The point is that, how would they know that the gloves have contaminated?
Okay, first off.. two questions..
1) How did you know the previous patient was HIV+?
2) Are you SURE the nurse didn't change her gloves? We're your eyes on her the ENTIRE time from when she treated the last patient to when she got to you?
