weight gain and luvox

Hi I have OCD and I am on fluvoxamine, generic luvox. It is the only med that has helped with this. I have gained a lot of weight on it and I am now 277 lbs. I gained weight previously on other antidepressants, mood stabilizers for bipolar, and antipsychotics. I stopped all of these and dropped some of the weight, but I ended up on the luvox because life was unbearable without it. So I am just curious, does the luvox affect metabolism or does it just make me want to eat more? Basically I am wondering if I can overcome this with willpower or if it is beyond my control. Thanks.

hi there, i am currently on luvox 200 mg. I am switching because of ridiculous weight gain, like 60lbs. Also the sexual side effects sucked. I am switching to lexapro 20 mg, which i hope will be better. Anyway, my psychiatrist said that SSRI's change the way you body metabolizes food. I have been on weight watchers and I am losing weight, but very slowly. He said it makes it diff to lose weight also.
