Help in the Kitchen

I was recently diagnosed with hypermobility and I suffer a lot of injuries while trying to prepare and clean up meals in the kitchen. One-handed maneuvers are difficult, painful, and often result in me dropping the pan or dish or spilling it all over myself. Are there any equipment, exercises, or techniques that can give me strength so these tasks aren't so difficult? A future concern of mine is caring for a baby. I usually don't hold them b/c I can't seem to handle their wiggling and I'm worried about my ability to carry one around. Do you know if insurance can pay for Occupational Therapy if it's needed? Thanks.
