L&D last night

well i went to l&d last night because i was having menstrual cramps that were 10 mins apart for 6 hours straight and they were getting worse...i called my doctor and they told me to go into the hospital...well they hooked me up to the monitor and sure enough i was contracting every 1-2 minutes..also having some strong ones..when they checked me first i wasn't dialited, but then 1 hour later i was a finger tip..so they think i am in early stage of labor..as of this morning im still having contractions, so i may end up going back there because they are getting worse..oh and im 38 weeks and 6 days

I've been contracting off and on for about a week now but its not doing a darn thing!!
I keep having contractions that last all night long and then subside during the day.
But the contractions won't regulate or get strong enough.
at 38 weeks I was already 2cm dialated, and I can bet you any money I'm already double or more than now at 40w2d.
So if nothing goes down this weekened, I'm going in Monday because this has been going on for 4 er 5 days now and it's getting redicilous.
Plus it's worrying me because I have barely felt her move since Wednesday.
I know they stop moving as much when it gets just about time to go n deliver, but if nothing is happening, and she's still not moving... I don't want there to be a problem.
I wish I was lucky enough like you to just go in labor already!!!
