Bone Grafts and Fasomax

Bone Grafts and Fasomax

I must have a crowned tooth extracted and bone grafted prior to an implant. I have taken Fasomax for two and one half years. My dentist suggeste going off Fasomax for three months. My question is which three months? Three months prior to the surgery? Three months after or some combination of before and after. For example two months before and one after.

You stop taking Fosamax three months before the extraction and restarted once the surgeon tells you that satisfactory healing has occurred.

The physician who prescribed the Fosamax should be consulted before stopping the medication.
