Hello-
First, thank you for taking the time to read my question. I will try and be brief!
I have had braces for almost two years now. I had palatal expansion surgery two years ago
I just had my second surgery almost two months ago now. My doctor moved my upper jaw up 6mm and then auto-rotated the bottom jaw forward. I also had Genioplasty on my chin.
With all of this work, my orthodontist informed me that even though I had the jaw surgery, I still had a Class II bite. I now have these elastics that I have to wear that hook from my molars to my canines in hopes of aligning the teeth properly (they like the bite on one side of my mouth, but the other side is not ideal).
My question is this...after such a surgery...can you still have an improper bite? My oral surgeon is wonderful and I personally think a perfectionist. :-) It’s hard for me to believe that he may have made a mistake or misjudged something...resulting in this Class II bite. Is it possible though?
Thank you again for any information/guidance you can provide. :-)
