yesturday i was sitting down, leaning on my jaw, and suddenly this crunching/clicking noise happened on the right side of my jaw. im not in lots of pain but i can constantly feel it. i cant open my mouth fully without feeling pain or discomfort. ive tried stretching my jaw, but this hasnt helped. could you possibly give me an idea of what it could be?
should i go and see a doctor or will it eventually go away?
As soon as possible you should see a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. You may have dislocated the jaw and/or the TMJ disc. Muscle spasms usually follows dislocations so the sooner you are seen, the least amount of injury will occur.
