I can feel a lump the size of a small pea when I roll my fingers on the side of my lower jaw near my ear, my doctor says its a small cyst and nothing to worry about. I am getting severe pain at nights when I am lying down on that side the pain refers to my upper teeth and lower back teeth and my ear. its driving me crazy and no one knows what it is the dentist has started a root canal treatment on one of my teeth but i think its not the problem of my pain.. what can you suggest for me please.
The swelling sounds more like an inflammed or infected lymph node and not a cyst. Cysts are generally painless. In either case, any swelling in the area you described should be evaluated by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon or ENT Surgeon as soon as possible - especially if it is painful.
