leukoplakia

Sir,
There was white patch on my cheek and the centre portion of the patch was black caused due to cheek bite. My dentist susprcted the white patch as leukoplakia and extracted the last tooth of my upper left side on 26th November and advised to take antioxidants. Now the black spot is reducing very slowly but the white patch is spreading. Please advice the future course of action.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Any lesion in your mouth which persists beyond 10 days after potential sources are addressed should definitely be biopsied.

Leukoplakia is a merely a descriptive term use for a white lesion but is not a histological diagnosis.  You should see a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon as soon as possible.
