sever tooth and gum pain

I have had sever pain in between two back teeth on my top right side since 5/21/08.  I have been to two dentist who said everything was normal and just put me on an antibiotic as a precaution. I have had a sinus flare up and then went to an ENT who thought it was sinusitus and possibly TMJ.  All of the sinus issues have resolved but now all of my gums and teeth hurt (throb) on my upper right side.  I have been referred to an Oral/ Maxillofacial physician.  I am wondering what can I expect?  Are there any good suggestions on what this could be?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Thank you for your help.  I had another symptom begin this weekend and wanted your opinion.  I began experiencing vertigo (all the time) with some nausea and light spots when I close my eyes.  Do you think these could all be related?

At the consultation you can expect the doctor to obtain a complete health history  and history of your specific condition.   They will then perform an examination and take radiographs.

After gathering all this information they will try to determine the most likely cause(s) of your pain.  Additional tests such as MRI or CT scan maybe indicated depending on their findings.

Infection, inflammation, tooth fracture, and sinus disease are all common causes for the pain you are describing.
