tooth extraction

hi i had my number 15 tooth extracted on thursday while i was having it done the dentist pushed the root of the tooth into my nasal passage they woke me up to take another xray to find the root then they finally retrieved it i am in an extreme amount of pain taking two percocets every four hours and tylenol after 2 hours i have alot of swelling i went back to the see the surgeon his colleague examined me and said it looks good can i have any permanent damage because of this its been three  days and the pain is getting worse  is this a normal thing that occurs or is it a mistake on his part most of my pain is in the nasal passage as is the swelling please help!!

The intensity of pain is not common for the complication you have described.  The hole that drains your sinus cavity may be blocked by the inflammation and this can lead to severe pain which worsens when lying down.

You need to be very careful about overdosing on Tylenol which is contained in Percocet.

Obtaining drainage from the sinus usually decreases the pain.  You should return to your surgeon or obtain a second opinion consultation if they are unable to see you.  Permanent damage which proper care is very unlikely.
