Disruption of Achillies Tendon Minimal Retraction

What does it mean? At 53 is this something I should have treated? IF they surgurecally repair how is is done? Is it as does as an outpatient, ect? I got allot of questions on this..That is what I was told in response to having a MRI done..

An acute complete achilles tendon rupture is usually treated surgically. WHile they can be treated with a cast, the treatment course is prolonged, and the risk of rerupture is high.  Surgery is often done with regional anesthesia, rather than general, and is done as an outpatient. Recovery is very predictable, and the success rate is very high.

Partial tears, can be treated non surgically. Treatment options include immobilization, and a course of physical therapy.  Recent success has been reported with the use of platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections.  PRP injections deliver concentrated platelets into the injury, along with their healing factors that help to initiate the body's natural healing processes.

How do I the patient know the difference between the 2 ., Dr.., I sure appreciate your reply, if one gets this done are they able to work?

often a patient cannot tell the difference, that's why I suggest evaluation by an orthopedist.

Sir, with REST does this condition straighten it self? IF its a partial tear, will it regrow?

If one lost all health care & has the Partial Tear, will it heal it self? What more IF anything can I do for myself as I was and want to be physically active?
