Running and Osteoporosis

I'm in my early 30s and have severe Osteoporosis in hips and low bone density (Osteopenia) in my spine.  I've been running on the treadmill for about 10 minutes daily, followed by 20 mins of brisk walking.   Is running a safe exercise for Osteoporosis?

I am concerned abuot your risk of stress fractures with severe osteoporosis. Although walking is not risk free, I think it bears less risk than running.  I'm sure you know the importance of weight bearing exercise in the treatment of osteoporosis, so keep up the good work.
