Upper back, shoulder and arm pain

Not sure what I did but woke up with pain in my upper back (around shoulder blade) and the pain travels through the backside of my arm and the top of my forearm. Sometimes making my hand tingle. Is this a pinched nerve somewhere or something more serious?

Thank you for your time,

Kim

This sounds like an irritated or "pinched" nerve in your neck, known as  a cervical radiculopathy. This could have been caused by the position in which you slept, or by some activity the previous day.  Occasionally, the pain will resolve with NSAID's, or alternative therapies, but I would suggest evaluation by an orthopedist.
