What can I expect if Synivic went into the bursa

After Meniscus surgery for a partial removal (medial) and a repair (Lateral) it was decided that we would do Synivsc injections. At the 3rd injection I felt a great deal of pressure behind the patella after an almost pop into something. After the shot I bled like crazy. I developed a huge bruise and swelling.  the knee took major steps backward and I lost extension. I have called the doctors office. What can I expect from this? my knee hurts, swells and gets stiff. Please help me understand this.

Sometimes the injection gets into the fatpad behind the patella tendon and the kneecap. This can be very painful and feel like a very bad bruise inside the knee.  Other patients have developed a pseudo-allergic rxn to the perservative in the synvisc injection.  This can cause sever swelling and stiffness
Both problems are treated with ice and Advil for several days.  If there is no resolution. then further evaluation is advised.
