Winging Scapula (Severe)

Winging Scapula (Severe)

I have severe projection with winging scapula on both of my shoulder blades. I have had them as long as I can remember. They appear equally over-projecting, and it was not posture, since I had perfect posture until 3 years ago.

I have full movement but when I get stiff from late nights of school work they seize up.

My question is should I be concerned ? When i stretch they project out to 4"
Are there complication I should watch out for ?

Thank You

A winging scapula can be the result of nerve dysfunction, either the long thoracic nerve, or one of the cranial nerves. As such you should be evaluated, especially since this is acute onset. See an orthopedist, a neurologist, or both,
